The Reality Behind The Whole Chaos!

The last post on this blog was about the 'Bois Locker Room' incident. Now, let's just put this straight and try to clear out the fuss created all over the internet. Since Sunday, netizens are posting in defence of the boys in the "Bois Locker Room" case sharing this story as the"truth" behind the whole case.

On Sunday, The Cyber Cell in Delhi, revealed that one of the screenshots that went viral amid the 'Bois Locker Room' debate, in which we could perceive a boy named 'Sidharth', planning to rape a minor girl with his friend in a 'one-to-one conversation', on "Snapchat", was in fact the girl in question herself.She stated that she did this to test the boy's 'strength of character'. The receiver of the message, who is also young, did not agree to participate and stopped further communcation. The conversation went viral after the boy who received these messages shared the screenshot with his friends and also with the girl itself.

Above is the screenshot of the conversation on Snapchat. This was at the same time when screenshots from the 'Bois Locker Room' chat group on Instagram were going viral when, the screenshot on Snapchat of one-to-one conversation between the juvenile convicts went viral.

 

According to the police, the two screenshots from two separate platforms got mixed up due to the same sensational nature of both the cases.

Clearly, the Locker Room case has not stopped and reportedly more than 24 members of the chat group on Instagram which was called out due to its lewd comments on girls. The members of the same group, slut-shamed and body-shamed girls after sharing their pictures in the group, without the girls knowledge. Below is the screenshot in the conversation of the group named 'Bois Locker Room' on Instagram.

Whereas, according to the police, no case would be filed against the juveniles who were involved in the Snapchat case, because this is apparently declared as a childish act and both the juvenile and immature!

DCW Chief Swati Maliwal stated that, "Its disgusting that a girl sent out snapchat message to a boy planning her own rape. 'Bois Locker Room' chats are not connected to this Snapchat but equally offensive and worthy of a warrant legal action!"

She is right as this "childish act" has endangered cause of hundreds facing cyber abuse everyday!

This must be acted upon too like the 'Bois Locker Room case. Strict action should be taken against this case, which will become an example for others as well, because cyber crime is gradually increasing all over the country. Everyone who has access to the internet should know what cyber crime is and what could be its consequences!
