छोडो मेहँदी खडक संभालो

खुद ही अपना चीर बचा लो

द्यूत बिछाये बैठे शकुनि,

मस्तक सब बिक जायेंगे

सुनो द्रोपदी शस्त्र उठालो, अब गोविंद ना आयेंगे|

                                           

कब तक आस लगाओगी तुम,

बिक़े हुए अखबारों से,

कैसी रक्षा मांग रही हो

दुशासन दरबारों से|

 

स्वयं जो लज्जा हीन पड़े हैं

वे क्या लाज बचायेंगे

सुनो द्रोपदी शस्त्र उठालो अब गोविंद ना आयंगे|

 

कल तक केवल अँधा राजा,

अब गूंगा बहरा भी है

होठ सी दिए हैं जनता के,

कानों पर पहरा भी है|

 

तुम ही कहो ये अश्रु तुम्हारे,

किसको क्या समझायेंगे?

India is no longer safe for a female being now! I am out of words! I have tears in my eyes, while typing this down on my computer. Aren't we past this? How long will this continue for? I don't feel safe anymore, I am sure, every girl behind the screen, can't relate more!

Repeating it again, No means 'NO'! Consent is important! 'No doesn't mean convince me more' A simple no means no!

I really can't explain this feeling, I am upset, angry and scared all at the same time. Its upsetting how can something like this happen? The feminist in me is angry, when I listen people say, ' She must be wearing something revealing? Was she alone? Was she out late?' I am angry enough to step out and join a movement against rape but, scared because I might be the next one? 

Clearly, I am outta words, and I don't have anything to say, How long do we need to have these conversation? Its getting shameful to ask for freedom and mercy! 

This will have the same pattern- Candle Marches-Protests-7 years of court hearings-Finally winning-victim's soul liberated-and a clean and cold silence-a new rape case, and the cycle goes on.
